Don't have much to say except that 65-21 has such a nice ring to it. :D

Halloween Weekend.....

Image
Well, we had an eventful weekend....some things good, some things NOT. Friday was fun. We took the little one around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat. There were people everywhere! You just don't see a lot of people doing that anymore, so it was a nice surprise. Saturday was the eventful one. We had two costume parties to go to that night, so I had to get a haircut. As I was cruising (really fast) into Tomball to get my hair cut, I had a little run in with Johnny Law. That started my day off bad, not to mention a rock hit my windshield on the way there, so now I have to find a windshield repair guy. So after all that, I headed to the Montgomery Co. Fairgrounds for the Conroe Swapmeet. In my search for cool stuff for my '58, I scored a sweet vintage cooler for $15 (see pic). That was exiting! Never found a windshield repair guy though. For the costume party, I decided to go as the new Joker, so after I got home, I began to put the make up on. Two hours later I was...

Very Interesting Video!

I ran across this today on YouTube, and found it very interesting. This is something that EVERYONE should see immediately!

Another little video of me cruisin' :)

Our trip to San Antonio & Kerrville for the Baron's Car Show

Well, this weekend was the annual Hill Country 100 Reliability Rod Run presented by the Baron's Car Club. Those guys are all my brother's friends, so we try to make it every year. Michelle came with me this year, so we decided to head through Bandera on our way to Kerrville to check out some of the old shops. We took my brother's 55 Old's and his buddy's 1930 Ford 5-window coupe hot rod. That car was cool! The trip was beautiful through the hill country and the show rocked, but since I had to drive Dustin's car, I couldn't ride in the Coupe. So, this morning we went for a ride in it. I put a couple videos:

Back to school....

Today we had to report back to school for the first time in a week and a half. I was kind of liking the time off, but I'm glad to get back to normal. Besides, we have a short week now :) And, there's a sweet car show at Splashtown that I'm dragging my '58 truck out to (it's debut show as a real rollin truck). Next weekend, I head off to San Antonio to jump in with my brother and his 55 Olds (pics above) to head to Kerrville to a old traditional rod run. Last year was a blast, so this year aught to be pretty cool. It'll be a good break from everything that's gone on this past week.

Finally...POWER!!! :D

Well, after 9 long days with no power, they finally got to us this morning. It's so nice to sit in A/C again! We report back to school tomorrow and the kiddos come back on Wednesday.

Day 9 without power.......

Well, it's been 9 days with no power...just a generator, and CenterPoint says it will be at least Thursday before it's fixed. We are wiring the breaker box today with an extra fuse, so I can plug the generator directly into it and run the whole house (minus the A/C and dryer). My girl's bro gave us a window A/C unit to use though. I just installed it, and wow it feels nice in here! Hopefully, there will be no problems with it. Now, I just have to go apply with FEMA to get reimbursed for all the gas I'm using in that thing. ;)

Aftermath of IKE

Image
Well, it's been a week since Hurricane IKE blasted through Galveston and Houston, and we still have no power. My neighborhood was luckily spared any major damage, but everything around us was not so lucky. I actually got to hear what a tornado really sounds like, which is not really anything to be proud of, but is kind of cool after the fact. One good thing about all this is that our cul de sac has gotten to know each other very well from all the campfires we've built in the driveway this week. It would be nice to get back to normal life again though.
